“Everyone wants to fix healthcare”
I see posts from CEOs, founders, and “healthcare innovators” confidently announcing how they will make healthcare more efficient, more accountable, more digital — without ever having spent a single day responsible for a patient’s life.
Let’s get real.
Doctors are not against technology.
What we are against is unfunded “innovation” — systems that cost lakhs to install, demand subscriptions, disrupt workflows, and magically assume doctors will absorb the cost.
And accountability? Why is it always pointed only at doctors?
Patients self-medicate for 3–4 days with antibiotics before coming to us, then blame doctors for prescribing “unnecessary” antibiotics when the clinical presentation is already distorted. Cultures become unreliable, symptoms are masked, and complications evolve — yet the doctor becomes the villain.
Self-medication continues. OTC antibiotic sales continue. Regulations stay on paper.
But blame? That flows one way.
Healthcare doesn’t fail because doctors resist change.
Healthcare struggles because of misaligned incentives, fragmented workflows, poor patient adherence, weak enforcement, and digital solutions built far from real clinical environments.
Understand the realities before preaching solutions.
Healthcare doesn’t need more self-appointed messiahs.
It needs shared responsibility.
Shared accountability.
Real-world solutions built with clinicians — not imposed on them.
