Why Caregiving Shouldn’t Break Careers — And How Tech Can Finally Help
Many working professionals, especially women, silently carry the immense burden of caregiving for family members with mental health conditions, often jeopardizing their careers and wellbeing. Existing mental health apps don't adequately address these complex, continuous demands, but CareCircle is changing that with a context-aware AI caregiving agent. This "second brain" provides personalized guidance, smart task management, and cognitive relief, helping caregivers navigate their responsibilities without sacrificing their professional lives.Vishwadeep Tehlan
Over the past year, as I’ve been building CareCircle, I’ve spoken to dozens of working professionals—especially women between 30–45—who are silently carrying a second full-time job: caregiving for a parent, spouse, or sibling with a mental health condition.
The data tells the same story: India has over 200 million people living with mental illness, and according to WHO estimates, caregivers spend 20–50 hours/week managing crises, appointments, medications, and emotional support.
Most of this falls disproportionately on women in the workforce.
And yet… almost every mental health app in India today is built for individual self-care, not for the complex, continuous demands of a caregiver navigating clinical mental illness.
This is where CareCircle is different.
One key feature from —something I’m personally excited about—is a context-aware AI caregiving agent.
Unlike typical chatbots, this agent understands the patient profile, diagnosis context, medication timelines, and care tasks. It’s designed to help caregivers stay organized with:
Guidance that adapts to the patient’s condition
Smart task prioritization
Contextual nudges before relapse triggers or missed routines
Structured caregiver logs that reduce mental load
Why does this matter?
Because caregivers don’t need “generic positivity.”
They need clarity, continuity, and cognitive relief.
A context-rich AI agent becomes a second brain—reducing repetitive decision-making, helping you track patterns over time, and freeing up mental bandwidth so your career and wellbeing don’t have to suffer in silence.
If you’re a caregiver juggling work and family, CareCircle is being built for you.
And I’d love your feedback as we refine the product.
